About Seniorlink
Seniorlink is committed to helping seniors age with dignity, including the ability to live in the least restrictive setting.
Seniorlink was founded in 2000 by E. Byron Hensley, Jr., who was
impassioned by his own family caregiving experiences to expand the
choices available to elders in need of care. The key to his vision was
to support family members in providing care to the senior at home,
where he or she could live as independently as possible.
Seniorlink built the first nationwide network of credentialed care
managers. With professionals located in all 50 states, we are able to
offer families qualified, local-level referrals — unlike any other
eldercare resource. Our nationwide reach enables Seniorlink to serve
even long-distance caregivers.
To date, Seniorlink has enrolled more than 1,200 care managers in its
network. Our combination of credentialing and background verification,
coupled with the supervision of Seniorlink’s clinical staff, has set
the standard for geriatric care management.
Caregiver Homes
In 2005, Seniorlink launched Caregiver Homes, a community-based care
option for frail elders who can no longer live independently at home. Caregiver
Homes is modeled after The Mentor Network, which Mr. Hensley founded in
1983. Mentor operates a similar system of host homes to care for people
with developmental disabilities, at-risk youth and individuals with
brain injuries. Mentor now operates 8,500 homes in 32 states and has
more than $420 million in annual revenues.
Caregiver Homes has generated significant interest among both public
and private organizations concerned with creating more community-based
options for long-term care. Among others, the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts has implemented a Caregiver Homes program to serve elders
receiving state home care services but who are at risk for
institutionalization. Learn more here or visit our new caregiver recruitment web site.
