Seniorlink dementia care pilot featured in McKnight’s Long-Term Care News

Results from a yearlong pilot from Seniorlink’s digital dementia care program, Vital Outcomes Inspired by Caregiver Engagement, were featured in McKnight’s Long-Term Care News. The article, “Dementia care pilot touts improved outcomes, lower costs” reports ER visits decreased by 56% and hospitalizations decreased by 21% in dementia care participants.

During the yearlong pilot, family caregivers who provided care to loved ones with dementia used Vela, Seniorlink’s care collaboration app, to talk to trained dementia care coaches virtually.

“Our work has shown that when you leverage proven care protocols you can increase caregiver confidence, engage them as partners in care management, and have a profound impact on outcomes and cost savings for our healthcare system.” said William McIvor, EVP and Chief Growth Officer at Seniorlink in the article.
